The Chicken Ruckus perform old time and folk songs and tunes that reach straight to the heart and soul. Their songs, drawn from generations of traditional music, share their ancient roots with bluegrass and the country music from the early part of the 20th century.

Accompanied by banjo, mandolin, fiddle, and acoustic bass guitar, The Chicken Ruckus sing songs from the American wilderness, from its cool mountains to its untamed coasts. Their songs also tell stories of the men and women faced with survival in an often-hostile landscape. It’s not all about railroads and coal mines. All of life is reflected in the repertoire, including love, death, and whatever might come after.
